Absolutely outstanding place. Eleonora at the service is very professional and welcoming, she knows a lot about the local products and the kitchen did an amazing job, the best discovery of the holidays so far.

Wow; what a positive surprise. This place was both cozy and served excellent dishes.

Located in one of the most unanticipated spots, this place serves fine dining dishes for fair prices, having deep local flavors and great service. If you're lucky, you'd catch the local gospel band singing right next to your outdoor seat - try making it on Sunday noon.

The best meal we had in Italy. Make a reservation; we did, and watched many others get turned away as the restaurant was completely packed. Everything was done with great precision. Our waitress taught us so much about wine, and we know a lot already. Francesco personally greets everyone, checks on you throughout the meal, and is a genuinely kind person.

Delicious high quality foods. Great service. We appreciated their careful consideration for our sons food allergies.

Wonderfully historic restaurant with delicious food - so happy to find a vegan entree - braised celery root with roasted vegetables. A bit off the beaten track of Lucca but still lovely on a Saturday night.

Very tasty. Talglaitella with duck ragu and agnolotti with chicken liver and porcini in reduced port sauce. Superb. And do not miss the torta lemons desert...different way of serving.Service is excellent

Friendly staff Fantastic food

Amazing wine!! They welcomed us with prosecco, which is always appreciated :) Super friendly even when we arrived 20 minutes late due to traffic. Food was delicious,I loved both baccalà and chickpeas and squid "trippa". And the homemade bread added a special touch. We ate too much too much for dessert but they looked delicious. Absolutely recommended!

Excellent food and service. Highly recommended place to sample lucchese cuisine cooked to perfection. The staff and chef deserve special mention for the freindliness and professionalism that that set them apart from the competition.

Everyone was really nice. I went for lunch & had an appetizer and pasta. Good food. The servers speak English fairly well. It isn't cheap ... appetizer, sparkling water & stuffed pasta ragu was 24€.

We eaten here for the first time. The staff are very kind and helpful. The meal was excellent. That romantic (last) night was the most beautiful memory from Lucca. The story about the building is interesting too. Thank you

Very well worth a visit. You can sit inside or outside depending on the weather. Staff were exceptional right down to the fine detail. The food was outstanding, served in ample portions and oh so tasty. Would I go again? Without hesitation.

They gave us prosceticco at the start and freshly made bread which were very nice. The lady who served us were very patient in her explanation and kept checking on us during the meal to make sure we were good. Our food was very tasty and we tried some exceptional dishes on her recommendation. Very good dining experience and we highly recommend this restaurant.

Great selection on the menu and the food was gorgeous, house wine was good and all at very reasonable prices in a lovely atmosphere served by great staff. Will definitely return.

Such a nice place where you can relax and enjoy good food. I really liked my meal in this restaurant; I was spending time with my father and I really suggest you to come here if you want to taste local food with a glass of wine.

Very nice....nice people...waiters all speak English very well....in the celler of the old Palace....food is basic Tuscan fare simple and good and presented nocely... ..extensive wine list....we especially enjoy the small vegetable souffle starters.....changes regularly...tonight was artichoke

The restaurant is located in the heart of Lucca, and it is very busy on weekends.Great variety of dishes, has vegan and vegetarian options.Good wines for decent prices.Really good for couples to go on a romantic dinner.

Superb. So happy we found this little gem.Delicious food. Warm and friendly staff.We devoured the broccoli flan with sauce made with anchovies. Don't let the anchovies scare you. Hardly noticeable. For our first paperadelle with sausage and spinach. Our main was the pork belly and a side of mashed potatoes.Everything was excellent.

Lucky to get a table at 20:30 on a Wednesday night. Our waiter had a great knowledge of the cuisine. Local pasta was excellent, chicken cooked in beer even better, homemade bread fantastic. Bottle of Chianti was OK. Maybe should have skipped the Apple strudel for dessert. All the above and agua for 68 euro. A little high but worth it.

Really good stuff, service ok. Risotto was tasty but slightly over cooked. Al capo themself said " sorry"...really nice guy. So even with that experience I would recommend this restaurant ... try the zucchini mousse

When in Lucca, eat here! My absolute favorite. Food ánd service is beyond expectations.

We had an amazing dinner in Cantine Bernardini. High quality food in a cosy place.The service was of high standing, and we particularly appreciated Iole kindness and availability.Main courses from 10 to 20€ & home-made fresh pasta.

Quite a disappointment in Lucca. We did not like the food in this restaurant. What is otherwise a very nice place and atmosphere, was truly ruined by very bad food. My wife had codfish, that was garnished with leeks and hummus, which wasn´t creamy but crumbled (?!), very strange combination. The entire dish was dry and just not tasty, and the filet of cod was very small. I had spaghetti aglio-olio, but they came with bread-crumbs ?!?!? Just not a good experience, in a town which just boasts great food.

Immaculate service in a gorgeous setting in the city. There were free refreshing drinks and a "mouth amuser" included, our kids loved the drink. The food was perfectly cooked and the menu imaginative with creative, modern twists on the classics. Highly recommended, it wasn't too pricey either.

Highly recommend this restaurant- great service, excellent food & good value for money. Got a good bottle of wine here for €7 less than I paid for the same wine in another local restaurant. It’s a good idea to make a reservation during peak season as it’s popular!

We had a great dinner here. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Highly recommended for a nice dinner in Lucca. The dining area is below the Bernardini Palazzo, so there is no outdoor seating or windows but the room is light and pleasant.

Delicious Italian food with a contemporary influence. Extensive wine list. Our waiter recommend a local wine from the Lucca region that was excellent but reasonably priced. Excellent service that was attentive and professional. Don't expect to eat and run. This is a dinning experience and time is required. Our best dinning experience in over a week of eating out in Italy.

Great place to dine. The service was extraordinary. Food was excellent. With tasty vegan options. Me and my meat eating friend are in love with their vegan starter cecina. However, mind that it is very warm inside the restaurant.
